On Tuesday, manga author Ai Okaue took to her official Twitter account to announce the early launch of her latest manga, titled ROAR: Naraku no Heroine (ROAR: Heroine of Naraku). The manga made its debut on both pixiv’s “Palcy” manga app and Kodansha’s Manga Kingdom website, providing fans with simultaneous access on Tuesday.

The manga revolves around Misato, who grew up in good health, raised by loving parents on a picturesque island in Japan’s Setouchi region. During her childhood, she unexpectedly becomes an extra in a television drama, setting in motion a fateful chain of events that will shape her future. Now an adult, she navigates the glitzy world of entertainment fueled by a single-minded desire for vengeance.
In 2017, Okaue launched the manga Guilty (Guilty: Nakanu Hotaru ga Mi o Kogasu) on the Manga Kingdom website. The series concluded on October 30, leaving readers captivated until the very end. Kodansha, the esteemed publisher, released the manga’s 12th compiled volume on February 13, with the highly anticipated 13th and final volume scheduled for release on June 13. Impressively, the combined print and digital sales of this captivating series have surpassed an incredible 2.9 million copies.
The manga’s immense popularity led to the creation of a live-action television series, which made its debut in April 2021, captivating audiences with its compelling adaptation of the source material. To cater to a wider audience, Kodansha USA Publishing has made the manga available digitally in English, with the 11th volume released on January 31, delighting fans around the world.
