Akiba Maid War Stage Play Unveils Striking Visuals with Cast in Costume

On Tuesday, the official Twitter account of the stage play adaptation of Cygames and P.A. Works’ original TV anime, Akiba Maid War (Akiba Meido Sensō), released a captivating visual showcasing the cast adorned in their delightful costumes.

The cast includes:

  • Rina Hashimoto as Shiipon
  • Marina Nagasawa as Yumechi
  • Hinata Satō as Nagomi Wahira
  • Asana Mamoru as Zoya
  • Miyuki Torii as Manager
  • Hotaru Nomoto as Ranko Mannen

The Hakuhinkan Theater in Tokyo will host the play from September 6-10, featuring various cast members, including voice actresses from the anime. Post-performance discussions with the cast will take place on September 7-9, with different attendees depending on the day.

The anime premiered in Japan last October and consisted of 12 episodes. Sentai Filmworks has acquired the rights to distribute the anime on home video. HIDIVE streamed the series as it aired, providing the following synopsis:

Akiba Maid War

Akihabara, the hub of fascinating hobbies and eccentric amusements, stands as the focal point of the universe. In spring 1999, Nagomi Wahira, full of enthusiasm, moves to Akihabara, aspiring to work at a maid café. She quickly finds employment at café Ton Tokoton, affectionately known as the Pig Hut. However, adapting to the bustling life in Akihabara proves to be more challenging than serving tea and delighting customers.

Teamed up with the perpetually serious Ranko, who rarely smiles, Nagomi must strive to elevate the Pig Hut above its competing maid cafés, all striving for the top spot. Along the way, she carves out a unique place for herself amidst the lavish frills and captivating experiences of life at the Pig Hut. Just as Nagomi’s dreams seem within reach, she uncovers hidden truths beneath the surface of Akihabara’s maid café scene.

The anime “Kedamono Land Management Strategy Room” was attributed to the original work by the talented team at P.A. Works, while it was skillfully directed by Sōichi Masui, known for his exceptional work on anime such as “Chaika the Coffin Princess,” “Sakura Quest,” and “Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai.” Overseeing the series scripts was Yoshihiro Hiki, while the character design and chief animation direction were expertly handled by Manabu Nii, recognized for his contributions to anime like “The Day I Became a God,” “Kakegurui twin,” and “Hina Logic – from Luck & Logic.” The captivating music for the anime was composed by Yoshihiro Ike, renowned for his remarkable scores in works such as “Tiger & Bunny,” “Ergo Proxy,” and “2019 Dororo,” all produced by Cygames.
