Haikyu

The anime is an adaptation of the volleyball manga created by Haruichi Furudate and produced by Production I.G. The manga’s journey to the screen began in April 2014, with the first season airing its final episode in September 2014. The subsequent seasons were aired in October 2015 and October 2016, and the latest, the fourth season, debuted in January 2020.

Apart from the main seasons, the anime franchise has expanded to include two compilation films, namely “Haikyu!! the Movie 1: The End and the Beginning (Gekijō-ban Haikyu!! Owari to Hajimari)” and “Haikyu!! the Movie 2: The Winner and the Loser (Gekijō-ban Haikyu!! Shōsha to Haisha)”, both released in 2015. Furthermore, three anime specials, another two compilation films, a clay-animated special, a series of novels, stage plays, and a Nintendo 3DS game adaptation have been developed, thereby enriching the Haikyu!! universe.

The original manga was first introduced to audiences as a one-shot in the Winter 2011 issue of Shueisha’s Shonen Jump Next! magazine. Another one-shot appeared in the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine later that same year. Following this, Furudate officially launched the series in the Weekly Shonen Jump, which continued until its conclusion in July 2020.
