During a live-streamed event for the television adaptation of Koei Tecmo Games’ Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout (Tokoyami no Joō to Himitsu no Kakurega) RPG, it was revealed that the anime’s premiere will feature an exciting one-hour special. Additionally, a brand-new key visual, beautifully crafted by character designer Tomoyuki Shitaya, was unveiled during the live stream.

The anime adaptation of “Tokoyami no Joō to Himitsu no Kakurega” reunites the original game’s beloved cast. Leading the project is Ema Yuzuriha as the director, entrusted with bringing the animated series to life at LIDEN FILMS. Yashichiro Takahashi, known for his work on “Shakugan no Shana,” returns to oversee the series scripts. Handling character design duties is Tomoyuki Shitaya, recognized for his exceptional work on “Bakuman.” and “Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma.” Composing the music is Kazuki Yanagawa, who brings his talent back from the game to create a captivating soundtrack.

The music group Sangatsu no Phantasia will be presenting the captivating opening theme song “Golden Ray” for the upcoming anime series. Mark your calendars, as the show is set to debut on July 1 at 24:00 on Tokyo MX, Gunma TV, Tochigi TV, and BS11 channels (equivalent to midnight on July 2 or 11:00 a.m. EDT on July 1). Additionally, viewers can catch it on YTV and TV Aichi.
In October 2019, Koei Tecmo Games’ Gust brand introduced Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout for PS4, Switch, and PC via Steam in North America. The game later debuted in Europe in November 2019, followed by its release in Japan in September 2019. Subsequently, Koei Tecmo America launched Gust’s Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy in January 2021, available on PS4, Switch, PC via Steam, and digitally for PS5. This sequel takes place three years after the original installment, and together, the two games have shipped over 1.6 million units worldwide.
Initially scheduled for release on February 22 in Japan (PS5, PS4, and Switch), and on February 24 in the United States (PS5, PS4, Switch, and PC via Steam), Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key (Ryza no Atelier 3 Owari no Renkinjutsushi to Himitsu no Kagi) faced a delay. Gust and Koei Tecmo America rescheduled the game’s PS4, PS5, and Switch release to March 23 (March 24 in the West), while the PC version via Steam was moved to March 24.
