Bakuon!! Spinoff Manga Starring Onsa Amano Returns on September 5

In the latest issue of Akita Shoten’s Bessatsu Young Champion magazine, exciting news was revealed about Yasuhiro Makino’s spinoff manga, “Bakuon!! – Amano Onsa no Nikoichi Hanjōki” (Bakuon!! – A Record of Onsa Amano’s Thriving Jury Rigging).

This manga, which focuses on the character Onsa Amano from the original “Bakuon!!” series, is set to make a grand return with a new serialization starting from the magazine’s next issue on September 5. Originally launched in April 2018 on Akita Shoten’s Champion Cross website, the manga had concluded its first serialization in September 2018, leaving fans eager for more. The manga had received its one compiled book volume in December 2018.

In addition to the exciting news, the September issue of Bessatsu Young Champion also marked the conclusion of the thrilling spinoff manga “Bakuon!! Taiwan-hen” (Bakuon!! Taiwan Arc) by Mimana Orimoto and Guiya Ōta. The final volume, the fourth installment, is scheduled to hit the shelves on October 20, closing the chapter on this captivating storyline.

For those unfamiliar with “Bakuon!!,” the original manga series, authored by Orimoto (known for “Mahou Shoujo Neko X” and “Maid in Japan”), was first introduced in Young Champion Retsu magazine in February 2011.

The series has since garnered popularity, leading to the publication of its 17th compiled book volume on October 20. Additionally, in April 2016, the series received a thrilling 12-episode television anime adaptation, which was licensed by Sentai Filmworks and streamed on Crunchyroll and The Anime Network.

Furthermore, it is worth noting that apart from “Bakuon!! – Amano Onsa no Nikoichi Hanjōki,” the “Bakuon!!” franchise also had another gripping spinoff manga titled “Bakuon!! – Suzunoki Rin no Yabō” (Bakuon!! – Rin Suzunoki’s Ambition). Created by Akira Aoi, this manga was initially launched in Akita Shoten’s Champion RED magazine in May 2018, concluding its run in October 2018. A compilation volume was subsequently published in December 2018.
