mafia in order to clear his crippling debt. His life is saved when Shigeru Akagi, a young. boy, chooses to hide from the police in the gambling parlour. Nangou teaches Akagi
some rules of Mahjong, and although he is unfamiliar with the game, Akagi’s innate
gambling instinct saves Nangou’s life. In the world of Mahjong, Akagi is destined to
become a legend.
