This year’s 24th issue of Shueisha’s Grand Jump magazine revealed on Wednesday that manga creator Osamu Akimoto’s Black Tiger manga will end. The manga will be on hiatus in the first 2023 issue of Grand Jump on December 7th. The manga then returns and begins serial publication of its final four chapters in the second 2023 issue of the magazine on December 21.

The story of “Intense Gun Action” takes place in the United States after the American Civil War. In the chaotic atmosphere of the post-war era, the Northern government gave bounty hunters “licenses to kill” so they could take out the South’s remaining soldiers and outlaws. One of these bounty hunters, a gunslinger named “Black Tiger”, faces off against dark enemies wielding evil weapons.
Akimoto published the manga in Grand Jump in December 2016 as one of four new manga he published after the end of Kochikame. The manga initially had an irregular serialization schedule in the magazine and switched to regular serialization in November 2019.
Shueisha released the manga’s first compiled book volume in Japan in November 2017 and released the 10th volume on September 16.
Akimoto finished the Kochikame police comedy manga in September 2016 after 40 years of publication.
