The fourth season of the anime adaptation of Kafka Asagiri and Sango Harukawa’s Bungo Stray Dogs manga will feature the return of three cast members in younger versions of their characters. The season, which is set to debut in 2023, will also adapt “The Untold Origins of the Detective Agency,”
the series’ third light novel volume. The main staff, including director Takuya Igarashi and character designer Nobuhiro Arai, will also return, along with the main cast members Yūto Uemura, Mamoru Miyano, Sumire Morohoshi, Kensho Ono, and Kishō Taniyama.
The first season of the anime aired in 2016 and was followed by a second season later that year. The third season premiered in 2019. An anime film titled Bungo Stray Dogs: Dead Apple was released in 2018 and was later streamed by Crunchyroll and Funimation. The manga, which launched in Kadokawa’s Young Ace magazine in 2012, is ongoing and being published in English by Yen Press.
