These novels, published in English by Yen Press, unfold in a world where the Demon King has met his demise. In his absence, a group of demigods with extraordinary abilities has risen to power.
Among them are a master fencer, capable of deciphering opponents with a single glance, a lightning-quick lancer, breaking sound barriers in their wake, a rogue wyvern fighter wielding three legendary weapons, an all-powerful wizard capable of manifesting thoughts into reality, and an angelic assassin specializing in swift and certain death.
Eager to claim the coveted title of “One True Hero,” these champions seek out formidable adversaries and, in the process, ignite conflicts of their own. Thus begins the epic battle to determine the mightiest of the mighty.

Keito commenced serializing this series on both the Shōsetsuka ni Narō and Kakuyomu websites back in 2017. Kureta’s evocative illustrations grace the pages of the novels. Kadokawa initiated print publication of the series in September 2019.
Remarkably, the novel series secured the top spot in the tankōbon, novel, and new title categories of the 2021 edition of Takarajimasha’s Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! (This Light Novel Is Amazing!) guidebook, amassing the most votes ever recorded for a light novel series in the guidebook’s history. Kadokawa released the seventh volume in February, and the English version of the fifth volume is set to hit shelves on November 21st.
Meguri embarked on a manga adaptation published in Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Magazine in March 2021. The manga’s second compiled volume became available in Japan in December 2021.
