Toonami’s recent Facebook announcement unveiled a thrilling plan: the airing of Attack on Titan: The Final Chapters Part 1 on September 9 (effectively September 10) at 12:30 a.m. This part had initially debuted as a one-hour special on March 3.
Crunchyroll, under the title Attack on Titan Final Season THE FINAL CHAPTERS Special 1, had streamed this anime, which is also available on Hulu.
Notably, SIM returned to create the captivating opening theme song, “Under the Tree.” The Japanese rendition of Attack on Titan Final Season THE FINAL CHAPTERS Part 1, known as Shingeki no Kyojin The Final Season Kanketsu-hen Zenpen, signifies its first half status. Meanwhile, the second half is labeled Shingeki no Kyojin The Final Season Kanketsu-hen Kōhen.
Fans can eagerly anticipate the forthcoming premiere of Attack on Titan Final Season THE FINAL CHAPTERS Part 2 this fall. Crunchyroll designates it as Attack on Titan Final Season THE FINAL CHAPTERS Special 2.
Harking back, Attack on Titan The Final Season’s journey began with its debut on NHK in December 2020, spanning 16 episodes. Funimation and Crunchyroll both facilitated the English-subtitled streaming. Subsequently, Toonami took up the mantle in January 2021, accompanied by Funimation’s English dub release in the same month.
Part 2 of Attack on Titan The Final Season continued its gripping saga with episode 76, premiering on NHK General in January 2022. Airing for 12 episodes, this installment was simulcast by Crunchyroll and Funimation as it aired in Japan.
The anime’s inception traces back to April 2013 for its first season, followed by a second in April 2017. The third season debuted its initial segment in July 2018, with the latter half following suit in April 2019. Hajime Isayama, the mastermind behind this epic tale, introduced the original Attack on Titan manga in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine in 2009, culminating with its conclusion in April 2021. Notably, the 34th and final volume saw its release in June 2021.
The English version, published digitally and in print by Kodansha USA Publishing, concluded with the 34th volume’s release in October 2021.
