Square Enix’s Manga UP! Global service has just unveiled the English adaptation of Riichu’s manga version of Kotei Kobayashi’s “The Vexations of a Shut-In Vampire Princess” (Hikikomari Kyūketsuki no Monmon) light novels.

The story revolves around Terakomari Gandesblood, known as Komari, who hails from a prestigious vampire lineage but refuses to partake in blood consumption, rendering her unable to use magic.

Opting for a life as a professional shut-in, Komari’s world takes a drastic turn when she’s unexpectedly appointed as the newest General of the Moolnight Empire’s Seventh Battalion, a group comprised solely of rebellious ruffians! Brace yourself for the comical escapades of a heroine who brilliantly leverages her uncanny luck to navigate dire predicaments. This manga adaptation is based on the equally popular light novel series of the same title.

Riichu’s manga adaptation originally debuted in Square Enix’s Big Gangan magazine back in December 2021. The manga’s second compiled volume hit the shelves on January 25, with the eagerly awaited third volume slated for release on November 25.
The source material for this captivating tale, the light novel series featuring illustrations by Riichu, was introduced by SB Creative Corp. in January 2020. The series has been gaining momentum, with the twelfth volume scheduled to be unveiled on October 13. Notably, Yen Press has secured the licensing rights for these novels.

What’s more, the exciting news doesn’t end there. “The Vexations of a Shut-In Vampire Princess” light novel series is set to make its debut in the anime realm, with the premiere date locked in for October 7.
