The official website for the television anime “16bit Sensation: Another Layer,” adapted from Misato Mitsumi, Tatsuki Amazuyu, and Tamiki Wakaki’s manga “16bit Sensation: Watashi to Minna ga Tsukutta Bishōjo Game” (The Bishōjo Game Made by All of You and I), has unveiled a captivating video reminiscent of a bishōjo game’s opening sequence.
This video prominently features the anime’s opening theme song, “65535” by the talented Shoko Nakagawa, while also introducing viewers to the charming cast of characters.
Set to debut on October 4 at 24:30 JST (effectively, October 5 at 12:30 a.m. JST or October 4 at 11:30 a.m. EDT), the anime will air on TOKYO MX, Tochigi TV, Gunma TV, and BS11. In an exciting development for fans worldwide, Crunchyroll is slated to stream the anime in various regions, including English-speaking, Latin American, and European countries, starting in October.
The stellar cast includes Aoi Koga in the role of the original protagonist, Konoha Akisato, Atsushi Abe as Mamoru Rokuda, Ayako Kawasumi as Kaori Shimoda, and the beloved Yui Horie portraying Meiko Uehara.
Under the capable direction of Takashi Sakuma, who previously worked on “Room Mate,” the anime is being produced by Silver. The original manga creator, Tamiki Wakaki, is collaborating on the anime’s original storyline alongside the former AQUAPLUS writer Tatsuya Takahashi, known for his contributions to series like “Shizuku,” “Kizuato,” “White Album,” “To Heart,” and “Comic Party.” Handling character design duties is the talented Masakatsu Sasaki, recognized for work on “Saki,” “We Never Learn: BOKUBEN,” and “TONIKAWA: Over The Moon For You.” The music is being composed by Yashikin, who has credits in “My First Girlfriend is a Gal,” “My Sister, My Writer,” and “Anime De Training! Xx!” Satoshi Motoyama serves as the sound director, contributing his expertise to enhance the auditory experience.

The inspiration for this manga came from the real-life experiences of its creators, with Wakaki, known for “The World God Only Knows,” collaborating on the story with Misato Mitsumi and Tatsuki Amazuyu, drawing from their shared time at AQUAPLUS. Initially, they distributed the manga as a dōjinshi at Comic Market in December 2016, and later, Kadokawa officially published it starting in September 2020, with two volumes available as of November 2021.
