Set to premiere during the fall of 2023, specifically on October 7, this eagerly awaited season will be available for streaming on Crunchyroll, featuring an array of dub options in English, Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, German, French, Italian, Castilian Spanish, Russian, and Arabic.
Although the dub premieres are yet to be revealed, fans can already enjoy an English-subtitled trailer to whet their appetites. The anime’s second season is slated to make its debut at 11:00 p.m. JST (10:00 a.m. EDT) on TV Tokyo, TV Osaka, TV Aichi, TV Setouchi, TV Hokkaido, and TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting channels. For those who miss the initial broadcast, fret not, as it will eventually air on other channels as well.
Returning to helm this highly anticipated season are seasoned talents such as Kazuhiro Furuhashi, known for his work on Mobile Suit Gundam UC and Rurouni Kenshin, as the director at WIT STUDIO and CloverWorks. Takahiro Harada returns as the assistant director, while Ichiro Okouchi, acclaimed for Code Geass and Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury, takes on the role of series script supervisor, replacing Furuhashi.
Assisting with the series script are Daishiro Tanimura and Ayumu Hisao. Kazuaki Shimada, renowned for The Promised Neverland, resumes his position as the character designer, and [K]NoW_NAME, the music producer behind titles like Fairy gone and Dorohedoro, returns to work their magic. Shōji Hata serves as the sound director.
Adding to the excitement, Ado lends their talents to perform the opening theme song, “Kurakura,” while Vaundy feat. Cory Wong takes the stage for the ending theme song, “Todome no Ichigeki” (Finishing Strike). The song’s lyrics and music come courtesy of singer-songwriter meiyo, with the illustrious Yoko Kanno handling the arrangement and performance.
Furthermore, the anime will be accompanied by a Gekijōban SPY×FAMILY Code: White film set to premiere on December 22, promising an all-new storyline to captivate audiences.
The journey of SPY×FAMILY began in April 2022, with Crunchyroll streaming the first half of the first season as it aired, including an English dub. The second half, which captivated fans in Japan in October 2022, also found a home on Crunchyroll for international viewers.
To further celebrate the success of SPY×FAMILY, a stage musical adaptation graced the stage in March-May 2023, solidifying its status as a multi-faceted and beloved franchise.
