Hello guys welcome back to another anime review on Animeindia.in . Today’s anime is ‘Darling in the Franxx’.
Story/Plot
The distant future: Humanity established the mobile fort city, Plantation, upon the ruined wasteland. Within the city were pilot quarters, Mistilteinn, otherwise known as the “Birdcage.” That is where the children live… Their only mission in life was the fight. Their enemies are the mysterious giant organisms known as Kyoryu. The children operate robots known as FRANXX in order to face these still unseen enemies. Among them was a boy who was once called a child prodigy: Code number 016, Hiro. One day, a mysterious girl called Zero Two appears in front of Hiro. “I’ve found you, my Darling.”
It takes place in an advanced, more evolved future, where humans have abandoned the surface and live inside moving plantations . Several children are raised artificially in order to pilot Franxx to defeat klaxosaurs and protect the ‘adults’, who are immortal yet emotionless and without reproductive organs.
Emotions
One of the key aspects of this anime is their focus on human emotions and understanding them. None of the children received any education on how to deal with emotions and they had to figure it out by themselves , this helped us to understand emotions in depth from a general point of view. This also helped them to go beyond just piloting Franxx and die , to actually decide their own future.
Backstories
Quite strong and intriguing back stories help us understand, both the characters and the condition in which they are at the present . The back story between Hiro and Zero Two undeniably stands out and also forms the base for their bond in the present . The backstory of doctor and klaxosaur queen also tell us how the recent condition of Earth came to be .
Love
Although ‘emotions’ were mentioned before , they spent a significant amount of time focusing on love. The idea of love helping us to overcome all obstacles is focused on and they also introduce love triangles and heartbreaks to show us various aspects if the same emotion. This also helps the children to understand the bond stronger than being a ‘partner’ and the expression of ‘someone special’ through ‘kissing’.
Evolution
This is also a key focus of the story , where they focus on ability of various organisms to evolve. They showed the evolution of humans as well as Klaxosaurs . They also showed how they failed in evolving certain aspects , which helped the newer generation to learn from the older generation and restart their life on the surface .
Conclusion
To conclude , it is a good anime with a great storyline and is quite entertaining and intriguing. That’s all for now folks.
