The official website for the TV adaptation of Honobonoru500 and Nama’s light novel series, “The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash (Saijaku Tamer wa Gomihiroi no Tabi o Hajimemashita.),” announced that Tei is set to perform the ending theme song, titled “because.”
An exclusive early screening event for the first three episodes is scheduled for November 23 at the Science Museum in Tokyo. The event will feature the presence of voice actress Aina Suzuki, who plays the lead character Ivy, director Naoki Horiuchi, and Tei, the artist behind the ending theme. Additionally, Aina Suzuki and Tei will be delivering live performances of the opening and ending theme songs during this special occasion.
The anime’s official premiere is set for January 12, airing on the Tokyo MX and BS Asahi channels at 11:00 p.m. (10:00 a.m. EDT), followed by its broadcast on ABC TV on January 13.
Aina Suzuki reprises her role as Ivy, the central character in the series, while Mutsumi Tamura stars as Sora, the lovable slime companion. These roles were originally featured in a previous drama CD adaptation of the franchise.
The creative team includes Shigeyasu Yamauchi as supervising director, with Naoki Horiuchi taking the helm as the anime’s director at Studio Massket. Katsuhiko Takayama is responsible for series composition, and character designs are crafted by Feng Cheng Hu and Yuki Ikeda. Kujira Yumemi is in charge of the music composition, and Lantis is credited for music production.
Seven Seas Entertainment has acquired the licensing rights for both the novel series and its manga adaptation, offering this enticing synopsis:
In this unforgiving RPG-esque realm, young Ivy finds herself perpetually down on her luck. Reincarnated with fleeting memories of her past life, she is burdened with the weakest class and lowest rank, even alienating her own parents. As a no-star Tamer, Ivy is left to fend for herself, mastering the art of survival by foraging off the land and repurposing remnants discarded by others. However, a pivotal moment occurs when Ivy successfully tames Sora, a humble slime, forever altering their destinies. There’s an unmistakable bond between them, and Ivy’s nurturing care brings forth the hidden potential in both of them.
