Exciting 3rd Promo Video for Dark Gathering Anime shows Luz’s Opening Song

On Friday, the official website for the TV anime adaptation of Kenichi Kondō’s Dark Gathering manga unveiled the third promotional video. The video offers a glimpse of luz’s opening theme song, titled “Kakuriyo” (Afterlife), treating fans to a preview of the upcoming series.

Additionally, the platform unveiled the third key visual for the series.

The highly anticipated anime is set to debut on Tokyo MX on July 9 at 25:05, which effectively translates to July 10 at 1:05 a.m. Later that same night, it will also be broadcasted on BS Asahi and Kansai TV. Fans worldwide can rejoice as HIDIVE will be streaming the anime simultaneously as it airs. To add to the excitement, the anime will have its North American premiere at Anime Expo on July 3.

The stellar cast includes Yū Sasahara as the captivating Yayoi Hо̄zuki, Nobunaga Shimazaki as the charismatic Keitarо̄ Gentо̄ga, the talented Kana Hanazawa as the endearing Eiko Hо̄zuki, and the enchanting Rina Kawaguchi as the enigmatic Ai Kamiyo.

Overseeing the production is the acclaimed director Hiroshi Ikehata, known for his outstanding work on FLCL Progressive, Kiratto Pri☆Chan, and Space Battleship Tiramisu. The series scripts are in the capable hands of Shigeru Murakoshi, who has previously showcased his talent in I’m Quitting Heroing and Zombie Land Saga. Bringing the characters to life is the skilled character designer Shin’ya Segawa, whose previous works include Pastel Memories and Garakowa -Restore the World-. The musical score, composed by the talented trio of Kohta Yamamoto, Shun Narita, and Yūsuke Seo, is sure to captivate the audience.

Completing the impressive team behind the scenes are Taijirō Nagata as the art director, Yuho Ando as the director of photography, Takahiro Uezono as the 3D director, Ritsuko Utagawa as the color designer, and Kōhei Yoshida as the sound director. Kana Hanazawa, renowned for her melodious voice, will grace the show’s finale with the captivating ending theme, “Haiiro” (Gray). The song’s poignant lyrics were penned by the talented duo, Konomi Fujimura and Katsutoshi Kitagawa, who also masterfully composed and arranged the musical composition.

At the heart of the manga lies the captivating tale of Keitarō Gentōga, a young individual blessed with the extraordinary ability to commune with spirits. Unfortunately, during his time in junior high school, a spirit possession incident entangled another person in its malevolent grasp, causing Keitarō to withdraw from society and become a recluse for over two long years. However, fate intervenes when he embarks on a new chapter in his life as a private tutor and crosses paths with the brilliant prodigy, Yayoi Hōzuki.

Upon their serendipitous encounter, Yayoi swiftly recognizes Keitarō’s exceptional aptitude as a spirit medium, extending a compelling invitation for him to join her in exploring the enigmatic realm of haunted locations. United by their shared mission, the two intrepid individuals embark on a thrilling journey, seeking to capture and vanquish wicked spirits that plague the unsuspecting world.

The manga, skillfully crafted by Kondō, made its debut in Shueisha’s esteemed publication, Jump SQ., captivating readers since its inception in March 2019.
