Anime Expo: BONES Co-Founders, Manga Creator Kafka Asagiri, and VTuber Group LazuLight

During the recent announcement by Anime Expo staff, it was unveiled that the esteemed BONES co-founders, Masahiko Minami and Toshihiro Kawamoto, will grace the event with their presence. Minami, the accomplished president and producer of BONES INC., will join forces with Kawamoto, the renowned director at BONES INC. Notably, Kawamoto serves as the character designer for BONES’ highly anticipated original anime, Metallic Rouge, set to make its debut in January 2024.

In an exciting announcement, the organizers of Anime Expo revealed that the renowned manga creator Kafka Asagiri, known for his work on Bungo Stray Dogs, will be attending the event on July 1 at 11:00 a.m. PDT. Additionally, the convention will feature a captivating talk show and a mesmerizing 3D performance by the talented VTuber group LazuLight from Nijisanji EN.

LazuLight, comprised of beloved characters Elira Pendora, Finana Ryugu, and Pomu Rainpuff, will grace the stage at the JW Marriott Platinum Ballroom on July 2 at 1:30 p.m. PDT.

Bungo Stray Dogs, created by Asagiri and illustrated by Sango Harukawa, made its debut in Kadokawa’s Young Ace magazine in 2013. Yen Press is responsible for publishing the manga and novel series in English. The manga’s popularity has led to the production of four television anime seasons and an incredible anime film. Fans can eagerly anticipate the premiere of the fifth season on July 12 (visual pictured at right).

This year’s Anime Expo will take place in Los Angeles from July 1 to 4. Notably, the convention has decided to discontinue its Premier Fan Badge system.
