On Thursday, Kadokawa made an exciting announcement regarding KonoSuba – God’s blessing on this wonderful world! The long-awaited third season of the main anime series is set to air next year. Accompanying the news was a captivating “ultra teaser visual” for the upcoming season.

Renowned anime director Takaomi Kanasaki, who previously helmed the series, will return as the chief director for the highly anticipated third season at Drive. Studio DEEN and J.C. Staff animated the previous two seasons and the film, respectively. Directing the series is the talented Yujiro Abe, known for his work on acclaimed titles such as Kaguya-sama: Love is War and Great Pretender. The seasoned Makoto Uezu will once again take charge of the series scripts, while the skilled Koichi Kikuta makes his comeback as the character designer.

The initial season of the main television anime premiered in January 2016, followed by the second season in January 2017. Crunchyroll provided simultaneous streaming for both seasons during their Japanese broadcasts. Konosuba – God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World– Legend of Crimson, the anime film adaptation, made its debut in Japan in August 2019. In November 2019, Crunchyroll and Fathom Events presented screenings of the film in the United States.
The television anime adaptation of Natsume Akatsuki and Kurone Mishima’s Konosuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World! spinoff novel series began airing on April 5, concluding recently.

The captivating narrative of the Konosuba light novel series, written by Natsume Akatsuki and illustrated by Kurone Mishima, revolves around Kazuma, a reclusive student who meets the goddess Aqua after his untimely demise in a traffic accident. Presented with an opportunity to reincarnate in a fantasy world, Kazuma chooses to bring Aqua along. Thus, their new lives begin, embarking on quests to earn enough for their basic needs and ultimately recruiting the inept sorceress Megumin and the dubious swordswoman Darkness.
The main novel series reached its conclusion with the 17th volume in May 2020. Natsume Akatsuki also penned the spinoff novels, complemented by Kurone Mishima’s exquisite illustrations. Since 2014, the spinoff series has expanded to include three novels and two sequel series novels.
Yen Press has taken up the task of releasing the original KONOSUBA light novels, along with Masahito Watari’s manga adaptation, in English. Additionally, the company is providing English translations for the Konosuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World! spinoff novels, as well as Kasumi Morino’s manga adaptation.
