Immerse yourself in an epic dark fantasy world where the destiny of the land hinges on the formidable Eikons and their Dominants. The narrative unfolds around Clive Rosfield, granted the esteemed title of “First Shield of Rosaria,” sworn to protect his younger brother Joshua, the dominant of the Phoenix.
As the tale unfurls, Clive becomes embroiled in a profound tragedy, vowing vengeance against the enigmatic Dark Eikon Ifrit, a harbinger of calamity.
The game was brought to life by Square Enix’s Creative Business Unit III division, with the illustrious Naoki Yoshida (known for his work on Final Fantasy XIV) as the producer, and Hiroshi Takai (also renowned for Final Fantasy XIV) directing the project. The game’s captivating theme song, “Tsuki Wo Miteita – Moongazing,” is performed by Kenshi Yonezu.
In an exciting twist, Final Fantasy XVI will transcend the realm of gaming to grace the stage in a musical adaptation by the renowned all-female Takarazuka Revue.
