Despite her ordinary appearance, Maomao possesses an astute mind and extensive medicinal knowledge. Her intellect attracts the attention of Jinshi, the observant head eunuch, who assigns her the risky job of a lady-in-waiting to the Emperor’s favored consort to test her food for poison. The series follows Maomao as she navigates through palace intrigues and mysteries, with her unique deductive skills and insatiable curiosity often plunging her into unexpected adventures—and dangers.
