(Last Updated On: August 30, 2023)

Forever Entertainment has just unveiled a new trailer for Front Mission 2: Remake, the revamped edition of the second tactical role-playing game in the Front Mission series. The highly-anticipated game is now scheduled to grace the Nintendo Switch on October 5, following a short postponement.

Initially slated for a June release on the Nintendo Switch, the company chose to delay the launch in order to ensure the incorporation of an array of new functionalities. This decision was made to guarantee players a polished and enriched gaming experience.

Front Mission enthusiasts were recently treated to Front Mission 1st: Remake, a modernized version of the series’ inaugural game. This remake, which made its debut on platforms like PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, as well as PC via Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store, was released on June 30. Notably, the Switch version had already been introduced in November 2022.

Excitingly, MegaPixel Studio is also hard at work developing Front Mission 3: Remake, yet another reimagined edition, this time of the third game in the series.

Square Enix’s Front Mission games are renowned for their immersive tactical RPG gameplay, set against the backdrop of a futuristic Earth. The games center around geopolitics, skirmishes, and territorial disputes fought using advanced mecha known as “wanzers.” The narrative of the original game revolves around a conflict between a pan-American coalition and an Asian-Oceanian alliance, both vying for control over a fictional Pacific island.

Square Enix, formerly known as Square, initially introduced the first Front Mission game for the Super Famicom back in 1995. Subsequently, Front Mission 2 made its way to the PlayStation in 1997.

The broader Front Mission universe also gave rise to the creation of Left Alive, a survival shooter game developed by Square Enix for the PlayStation 4 and PC. Released in 2019, this game further expanded upon the world of Front Mission.
