Forever Entertainment has postponed the release of Front Mission 2: Remake for the Nintendo Switch. While a new launch date remains undisclosed, the company aims to unveil the game in the third quarter of this year. Originally scheduled for a June release, the delay is attributed to their desire to incorporate additional features and ensure ample development time. Meanwhile, MegaPixel Studio is diligently working on Front Mission 3: Remake, a reimagining of the third installment in the beloved series.
Square Enix’s Front Mission games predominantly encompass tactical RPGs, set in a futuristic Earth and revolving around geopolitical conflicts and colonial strife fought using advanced mecha known as “wanzers.” The inaugural game’s narrative centers on a border dispute between a pan-American coalition and an Asian-Oceanian alliance, with a fictional Pacific island serving as the focal point.
Back in 1995, Square Enix (then Square) unveiled the inaugural Front Mission title for the Super Famicom. Subsequently, Front Mission 2 was released for the PlayStation in 1997. Notably, Square Enix also developed the survival shooter game Left Alive for the PlayStation 4 and PC, set within the expansive Front Mission universe, which was launched in 2019.
