Dark and Thrilling World of Hell’s Paradise in Anime Form!


Attention all anime fans! Are you ready to be transported to the thrilling world of Hell’s Paradise? This dark and action-packed series has just received an anime adaptation, produced by none other than MAPPA – the studio behind smash hits like Attack on Titan: The Final Season and Jujutsu Kaisen.
Set in the Edo period, Hell’s Paradise follows the story of Gabimaru, a notorious ninja known as Gabimaru the Hollow for his emotionless killing sprees. Despite numerous attempts to execute him, Gabimaru always manages to survive, and he yearns for death more than anything else. But when he meets Sagiri, a skilled executioner from the prestigious Yamada Asaemon clan, his life takes a drastic turn.
Sagiri is fascinated by Gabimaru’s desire to die and sets him on a dangerous mission to retrieve the Elixir of Immortality. Along with a group of other death row criminals, Gabimaru must journey to a mysterious island filled with deadly traps and fierce enemies. But why would a man who longs for death risk everything to obtain eternal life?


The 13-episode series is directed by Kaori Makita, known for her work on Banana Fish and Terror in Resonance. The script is written by Akira Kindaichi, who worked on God of High School and Lupin the Third Part 6, and Yoshiaki Dewa, who composed music for My Hero Academia and Food Wars!. Ringo Sheen and millennium parade team up for the opening song “W●RK,” while Uru delivers the haunting ending theme “Kamihitoe.”
