Ghost Reaper Girl Manga Hiatus: Akissa Saiké’s Latest Update

Akissa Saiké took to Twitter this Monday to announce his plans to resurrect the Ghost Reaper Girl manga from its recent hiatus. The talented artist, currently on the road to recovery, openly disclosed his struggle with depression as the primary cause for the break.

In May 2022, Shueisha had initially declared an indefinite hiatus for the manga. The manga, initiated by Saiké in July 2020, is available in English through both Viz Media’s Shonen Jump service and Shueisha’s MANGA Plus platform. MANGA Plus provides a succinct introduction to the series:

Ghost Reaper Girl Manga Hiatus

The fourth compiled volume of the manga was released by Shueisha in Japan in March 2022.

Akihisa Ikeda, known by his pen name Saiké, previously brought us the Rosario + Vampire manga, serialized in Shueisha’s Monthly Shonen Jump magazine from 2004 to 2007, with 10 collected volumes.

Subsequently, Ikeda continued the story with Rosario + Vampire Season II in Jump SQ. from 2007 to 2014, yielding 10 volumes. All volumes of both series have been published by Viz Media. The original manga inspired two anime seasons in 2008.
