Gintama, which first premiered in 2006, is a long-running anime series set in an alternate universe version of Edo-era Japan, where aliens have invaded and taken over the world. The series follows the adventures of Gintoki Sakata, a silver-haired samurai, and his eccentric group of friends as they take on odd jobs and get involved in all sorts of crazy and hilarious situations. The series has been a favorite among anime fans for its unique blend of humor, action, and heart.
