Netflix’s description of the series reads as follows:

“Within the virtual realm of the online game ‘Planet,’ a formidable quartet known as ‘The Akabane Family’ emerges. This group, though unaware, consists of members from a fractured real-life family. An introverted older brother, a high-achieving younger sibling, a disrespected father, and a neglectful mother—each unfamiliar with the warmth of family bonds. They remain oblivious to the fleeting nature of their online camaraderie.
What’s more, they fail to recognize their true familial connection. The narrative revolves around the Akabane Family’s exploits within ‘Planet,’ encompassing epic battles against monsters, rival guild conflicts, and the enigmatic ‘Black Bird,’ the ultimate game objective. As the story unfolds, it intricately weaves the boundaries of the virtual and real worlds, revealing the depths of this genuine family.”
Katsuya Kikuchi, known for works like “Idol Memories” and “The Royal Tutor,” assumes the director’s role, while Michiko Yokote, a veteran in scriptwriting with credits such as “Shirobako” and “Cowboy Bebop,” supervises and pens the series scripts. Rena Okuyama handles character design, drawing from her experience in “Idol Memories” and “The Royal Tutor.” Takatsugu Wakabayashi, renowned for compositions in “Skip and Loafer” and “Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer,” provides the musical score.
