It has been announced that the popular comedy manga series Grand Blue Dreaming by Kenji Inoue and Kimitake Yoshioka will be going on hiatus due to one of the creators suffering from a sudden illness. The announcement, made in the March issue of Kodansha’s Good! Afternoon magazine, did not specify the nature of the illness or give a timeline for the manga’s return.
In addition to Grand Blue Dreaming, the manga series Vintage by Akabori-kun will also be going on hiatus for the same reason. This is not the first time Grand Blue Dreaming has gone on hiatus due to the creators’ health issues.

In 2021, the manga went on hiatus from January to March due to Inoue’s back pain caused by overwork and for one month in May due to one of the creators being hospitalized for an emergency.
Fans of Grand Blue Dreaming and Vintage are undoubtedly disappointed by this news, but the well-being of the creators must be the top priority. We wish the affected creator a speedy recovery and look forward to the manga’s return.
