During the Dengeki Bunko 30th anniversary event held on Saturday, it was excitingly revealed that a second season of the popular Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online TV anime has been officially approved for production.

Tomori Kusunoki is set to reprise her role as the central protagonist, Llenn.

The story revolves around Karen Kohiruimaki, a tall college student standing at 183 centimeters (6 feet) who battles with insecurities about her height and struggles with social interactions in the real world. Seeking solace, she immerses herself in the virtual realm of Gun Gale Online, assuming the avatar Llenn, a petite character under 150 centimeters (5 feet) in height, donning an alluring pink attire. Within the digital domain, Karen encounters Pitohui, a stunningly beautiful player with a rich brown complexion. Their connection flourishes, but one fateful day, Pitohui implores Karen to partake in the exhilarating “Squad Jam” event—a team-based Battle Royale variation of the renowned Bullet of Bullets tournament.
This animated adaptation stems from Keiichi Sigsawa’s Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online light novel series, which stands as a splendid spinoff originating from Reki Kawahara’s Sword Art Online light novel series.
