Hajime Isayama, the creator of “Attack on Titan,” is making a return to the series with an upcoming colour art book and a one-shot manga. In a recent letter, Isayama provided insights into the art book, emphasizing that the colouring work has been handled by the same artist who has been dedicated to “Attack on Titan” since its inception.
Isayama shared his thoughts in the letter:
“My name is Hajime Isayama. It has been about two and a half years since I finished the serialization of Attack on Titan. I have decided to release a colour art book. I am very honoured. I am happy to have the compilation of my past work in a book. I would like to say proudly, ‘I am very happy to have compiled all of my work into a book,’ but in fact, I have only done line drawings for the colour illustrations. I asked a certain person to do the colouring work for me.
“I am proud to say that I am known for not excelling at drawing, so there is no way I could do a great colouring job. I believe that this work would not have been possible without the presence of the specialist who has been in charge of colouring Attack on Titan since the beginning… I would be happy if the colour art book focuses on those who have continued to support the series behind the scenes.”
Fans of “Attack on Titan” are eagerly anticipating Isayama’s return to the acclaimed series. The manga’s immense success, along with the fervent anticipation for new content beyond the anime adaptation, underscores the significance of Isayama’s involvement. The specific content and direction of the one-shot manga and art book remain to be unveiled.
The upcoming art book, titled “Attack on Titan New Complete Illustrations Artbook,” is slated for release on April 30, 2024, in Japan. It will feature an 18-page one-shot manga titled “Attack on Titan Vol 35.” Furthermore, the anime adaptation of the “Attack on Titan” finale is scheduled to premiere on November 4, 2023
