On October 27, HIDIVE is set to expand its anime catalog with the addition of the Blade & Soul MMORPG adaptation. The narrative centers around Alka, an exquisite assassin accused of her master’s murder, evading the Empire’s pursuit.

Her mission: to track down and eliminate the true culprit, the diabolical Jin Valel. As Alka navigates treacherous blades and relentless bounty hunters, she grapples with a pivotal decision.

She must choose whether to honor her late master’s final wish, which implores her to abandon the life of an assassin.

Debuting in April 2014, the anime was licensed by Sentai Filmworks, simultaneously streaming on Crunchyroll during its Japanese broadcast. Sentai Filmworks also released the series on Blu-ray and DVD in 2015, with another Blu-ray release scheduled for October 24, just ahead.
Helmed by Hiroshi Hamasaki and Hiroshi Takeuchi, known for their work on Steins;Gate and Texhnolyze, the anime was produced by studio GONZO.
Scriptwriting duties fell to Atsuhiro Tomioka, renowned for Inazuma Eleven and Pokémon XY. Eri Nagata, responsible for adapting Hyung-Tae Kim’s game character designs for animation and serving as chief animation director, brought the characters to life.

Mimimeme MIMI contributed the anime’s opening theme, “Sayonara Usotsuki,” while LEGO BIG MORL graced the series with the melancholic ending theme, “RAINBOW.”
