WOWOW’s original anime “King of Fire Hunting”, directed by Junji Nishimura and composed and written by Mamoru Oshii, will start broadcasting in January 2023. A teaser visual has been released. Based on Rieko Hinata’s novel, “Fire Hunting King” is a fantasy set in the world after the final human war.
In a world where people are infested with “human flammable pathogens” that burn their bodies when they come close to the natural fire, Touko, a girl who grew up in a village, and Koushi, a former student in the capital, are living in a world where many people live.
It depicts how to live hard in spite of facing difficulties. The teaser visual shows Touko, Koushi, and Kanata, the “hunting dog,” standing against the background of a comet and a black forest in the night sky.
At the same time, additional information on the primary staff has been lifted. Takuya Saito is in charge of character design, Saito, Kazuya Kise, and Toshihisa Kaitani are the appointment of animation directors, Kenji Kawai is in order of music, and Kazuhiro Wakabayashi is the appointment of the sound director.
