How Anime Logos Are Converted To English – Crunchyroll

(Last Updated On: September 25, 2020)

Hey, guys welcome back to Animeindia.in. Have you ever wondered how Japanese written logos of anime and manga are converted into English for American and global audiences? Crunchyroll shared that interesting process on their IGTV Account and it is actually very interesting and as well as complex/timeconsuming at the same time. Here is the video.

Stephanie Gaddi ( Senior Designer ) & Peter Smith ( Senior Designer ) at Crunchyroll’s Design team explained the whole process step by step. The logos and titles featured in the video for English conversions include So I’m a Spider, So What?, Rent-A-Girlfriend,  and Seton Academy: Welcome to the Pack. The process includes the deconstruction of the logo, separating Kanji & Hiragana characters, vector tracing, and many more.

I would suggest you watch the full video and see for your selves. Follow Crunchyroll to know about inside workings.
