Yoshihiro Togashi, the creator of Hunter X Hunter, recently teased the manga’s return on Twitter. Sharing a snapshot of a manuscript corner, he simply wrote, “Start over.”

Back in March, Togashi announced the completion of Chapter 401, keeping fans eagerly awaiting the series’ serialization return.

The hiatus began in January, attributed to the author’s health concerns. Shueisha and Togashi mutually agreed that a weekly serialized format was no longer feasible. Concrete details regarding the manga’s return and serialization format remain pending.

The manga made a comeback after an almost four-year hiatus in the 47th issue of 2022, released in October 2022. The 37th compiled volume, marking the series’ return, was published by Shueisha in November 2022. Viz Media is set to release the English version on October 3.

Hunter X Hunter, launched in 1998 in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, has had a lasting impact. It spawned two TV anime series, two films, and numerous original video anime titles.
The second anime adaptation, airing from 2011 to 2014 with 148 episodes, retold the manga’s story. It revolves around Gon Freecs’ journey to become a Hunter, motivated by his quest to find his father and uncover the mystery of his abandonment as a baby.

Adding to the franchise’s popularity, a stage play adaptation debuted in May 2023.
