JUJUTSU KAISEN TV Anime Season 2 Announced, 2023 Release

During a stage event for the film JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 in Japan today, held to celebrate the film’s success in Japan and the JUJUTSU KAISEN franchise as a whole, it was announced that Season 2 of JUJUTSU KAISEN will continue the anime franchise ! The announcement confirmed that JUJUTSU KAISEN Season 2 is currently in production and will air in 2023.

A special illustration by Gege Akutami, creator of the JUJUTSU KAISEN manga, was also released to celebrate the news.

The story of Jujutsu Kaisen takes place in a world where cursed spirits feed on unsuspecting humans and fragments of the legendary and feared demon Ryomen Sukuna are lost and scattered.

Should a curse consume parts of Sukuna’s body, the power they gain could destroy the world as we know it. Fortunately, there is a mysterious school of jujutsu sorcerers who exist to protect the precarious existence of the living from the supernatural!

Crunchyroll streamed the first season of the TV anime JUJUTSU KAISEN when it aired in Japan and later also released an English dub for the series. Both Crunchyroll and Funimation will release the blockbuster prequel anime film JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 in North American theaters on March 18, with additional territories to be confirmed. JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 is currently the ninth highest-grossing anime film in Japan.

The second season of JUJUTSU KAISEN will premiere on Japanese TV in 2023, with MAPPA confirming they will be returning as the anime studio in charge, with no premiere date confirmed yet.
