In the 43rd issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine this year, the television anime adaptation of Hitsuji Gondaira’s manga “Mission: Yozakura Family” revealed its main cast. The official Twitter account of the anime is set to release a brief video previewing the four cast members on Monday.
The production of the anime is being handled by SILVER LINK, and fans can look forward to a special stage event at the upcoming Jump Festa 2024 event scheduled for December 16.
Gondaira, known for “Demon Prince Poro’s Diaries,” initiated the serialization of this manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in August 2019. Simultaneously, Viz Media has been digitally publishing the manga in English since its Japanese debut.
Furthermore, Viz Media began the digital release of compiled volumes in December 2020, followed by the physical release of the series, commencing with the first volume in October 2022.
For English-speaking audiences, Shueisha’s MANGA Plus service also provides digital access to the manga. Here’s a glimpse into the story: Taiyo Asano, a highly reserved high school student, finds his only confidant in his childhood friend, Mutsumi Yozakura.
However, a startling revelation unfolds—Mutsumi hails from the illustrious Yozakura spy family, and to make matters more challenging, she’s tormented by her overprotective and somewhat nightmarish brother, Kyoichiro.
Brace yourselves for a spy family comedy as Taiyo embarks on a mission to rescue Mutsumi! The mission has begun. In addition to the manga, a novel in the same franchise was released on January 4.
