(Last Updated On: December 30, 2022)

The February 2023 issue of Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Sirius magazine has announced that a new manga adaptation of the Kakuriyo: Bed & Breakfast for Spirits light novel series will be released on January 26. The manga will be written by Midori Yūma and illustrated by Laruha, with art by Tsugaru Toba. The first chapter will be 88 pages long and feature a color opening page.

The Kakuriyo: Bed & Breakfast for Spirits novel series, which was originally published by Kadokawa in 2015, follows the story of Aoi Tsubaki as she inherits her grandfather’s debt to spirits and is forced to either marry the head of a spirit inn or be turned into dinner. Aoi instead decides to work off the debt on her own terms by finding a position at the inn. However, none of the managers are willing to hire a human, and Aoi only has one day to secure a job.

The novel series has already received an ongoing manga adaptation by Waco Ioka, which launched in Kadokawa’s B’s-LOG COMIC magazine and website in April 2016. Kadokawa published the eighth volume of the manga on April 1, with Viz Media releasing the seventh volume in English on January 4. Viz Media has licensed both the novel and manga series, releasing them in English under the same title.

In addition to the manga adaptations, the Kakuriyo: Bed & Breakfast for Spirits novel series also inspired a television anime that premiered in April 2018. The anime was streamed by Crunchyroll in Japan and by Funimation, which also released an English dub and home video version in 2019.
