Prior to “Ochitara Owari,” Suenobu created “Life 2: Giver/Taker,” which ran in Kodansha’s Afternoon magazine from June 2016 to October 2018. The manga, consisting of six compiled volumes, even inspired a live-action adaptation in January.

Additionally, Suenobu’s 20-volume “Life” manga appeared in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Friend magazine from 2002 to 2009, winning the Kodansha Manga Award in the shōjo category in 2006. The series, licensed by Kodansha USA Publishing, received nine volumes published by Tokyopop before the North American division shut down in 2011, also inspiring a live-action TV series in 2007.
