In an exciting announcement within Shogakukan’s Monthly Shonen Sunday magazine, it was revealed that Kiminori Wakasugi will unveil a fresh manga titled “Akina-chan Kamigakaru” (Akina-chan Possessed by a God) in the upcoming September issue, slated for release on August 12.
This captivating manga revolves around Akina, a skilled manga artist striving to create her next sensational series. While engrossed in preparations for her upcoming project, an enigmatic manga-esque occurrence unexpectedly befalls her. Simultaneously, in her distant hometown, an extraordinary phenomenon begins to unfold as well.

Wakasugi recently concluded his manga series, “Drunk Jiangshis,” on February 10. The manga made its debut in Hakusensha’s Young Animal magazine in October 2021. Hakusensha published the third and final volume of the series on May 29.
In April 2018, Wakasugi started the manga “Ashita no Esa Kimi Dakara” in Kodansha’s Monthly Young Magazine, which reached its conclusion with the release of its tenth volume on June 20.
Between May 2017 and December 2018, Wakasugi created and concluded the manga “Rhyming Man,” published in Young Animal.
In 2010, Wakasugi wrapped up his renowned manga “Detroit Metal City,” which Viz Media subsequently published in North America. The manga served as the inspiration for a live-action movie and an original video anime.
Wakasugi began his manga series “All Esper Dayo!” in 2009 and concluded it in 2015. The manga’s popularity led to the creation of a live-action television series, a special, a film, and a web series.
