During an event dedicated to the Laid-Back Camp franchise, exciting news was revealed on Sunday. Fans were delighted to learn that the highly anticipated third season of the Yurucamp anime, based on Afro’s manga, is set to premiere in 2024. Titled Yurukyan△ Season 3, this upcoming installment brings a change in animation studio from C-Station to 8-Bit.

Shin Tosaka, known for his work in Infinite Stratos 2, takes the helm as the new director, while Masafumi Sugiura, who showcased his talent in Uma Musume Pretty Derby, assumes the role of series composition. Hisanori Hashimoto, acclaimed for his key animation in Attack on Titan and Guilty Crown, joins as the character designer. Akiyuki Tateyama returns as the composer, and Takeshi Takadera resumes his position as the sound director.

The manga adaptation, created by Afro, made its debut in Houbunsha’s Manga Time Kirara Forward magazine in 2015 before relocating to Houbunsha’s Comic Fuz manga website in 2019. Yen Press commenced the English release of the manga in March 2018.

The anime series, based on the manga, premiered in January 2018, with Crunchyroll streaming the 12-episode journey as it unfolded. An English dub of the first season was also made available on Crunchyroll. The eagerly awaited second season of the anime graced screens in January 2021.
In July 2022, an anime film adaptation of the manga was brought to life, with Crunchyroll including the film in their lineup in November 2022.
The beloved manga has even ventured into live-action territory, with a television series adaptation premiering in January 2019.
The franchise has inspired gaming experiences as well. MAGES’ Yurucamp Have a Nice Day! game for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch delighted fans in November 2022. Gemdrops followed suit by releasing the Laid-Back Camp – Virtual – Lake Motosu (Yurucamp Virtual Camp Motosuko-hen) VR game in March 2021, and later, the Laid-Back Camp – Virtual – Fumoto Campsite (Yurucamp Virtual Camp Fumoto Camp Jō-hen) VR game in April 2022.

Furthermore, the franchise expanded into the mobile gaming sphere with the worldwide release of Laid-Back Camp All-in-one!!, the first smartphone game of its kind, just last month.
