In the 214th installment of Hinao Wono’s manga, “Tomorrow I Will Be Someone’s Girlfriend” (Ashita, Watashi wa Dareka no Kanojo), it was unveiled on Thursday that the series is set to conclude in its upcoming chapter.
Wono initiated this manga journey on Cygames’ Cycomi manga platform back in May 2019, and Shogakukan recently released the 15th compiled volume on August 18.
Notably, the manga secured the 18th spot among male readers in the 2022 edition of Takarajimasha’s prestigious “Kono Manga ga Sugoi!” (This Manga Is Amazing!) guidebook in 2021
. Furthermore, it earned the esteemed title of “Best Shojo Manga” at the 68th Shogakukan Manga Awards in 2022.
This manga boasts an omnibus narrative structure, skillfully navigating between various protagonists ensconced in diverse social landscapes. Predominantly featuring female characters, it intricately weaves the tapestry of modern, bittersweet, and intricate romantic tales.
Adding to its legacy, the manga served as the muse for a live-action series adaptation, premiering on MBS and TBS in April 2022. For global audiences, Disney+ has embraced the series under the English title “Tomorrow, I Will Be Someone’s Girlfriend.” Remarkably, the second season of the series debuted on May 2, further cementing its appeal.
