Let’s Make a Mug Too Anime Adds Dental Twist with Rokuro as the Star

The creators of the television anime adaptation of Tajimi City’s promotional manga, Yakunara Mug Cup Mo (Let’s Make a Mug Too), made an exciting announcement on Sunday. They revealed plans for a captivating spinoff anime called Rokurō no Dai Bōken (Rokurō’s Great Adventure). This unique anime venture will be a special collaboration with the dental app DentalE and is set to premiere exclusively on the app in the spring of 2024.

The personnel revealed both a screenshot of the anime and a collaborative artwork with DentalE.

The upcoming anime will revolve around Rokurō, a mascot created by Naoko Naruse in the series. Rokurō’s role will be to aid dentists and dental hygienists in spreading awareness about healthy diets that help prevent common dental diseases.

The initial season of Let’s Make a Mug Too debuted in April 2021, followed by the second season in September 2021.

Tajimi, a city situated in southern Gifu Prefecture, Japan, boasts renown for its exquisite Mino earthenware. This charming city showcases an array of historical pottery makers and ceramic art museums, providing facilities for pottery crafting experiences, and an abundance of restaurants serving delectable cuisine on Minoware dishes.

The tale commences as a teenage girl relocates to a bustling shopping avenue in Tajimi. A plethora of encounters await her, including the forging of new friendships, interactions with townspeople, and an immersion into the captivating world of ceramic art. What remarkable discoveries lie in store for her in this renowned town celebrated for its exquisite pottery?

The manga premiered in 2012 and is updated quarterly. It also features a four-panel spinoff manga called Naoko no Kobachi. In January 2021, a separate manga adaptation for the anime was launched on Akita Shoten’s free manga website “Manga Cross.” The new manga is being written by the original creator, Osamu Kashiwara.
