Kiwi Tokina’s popular manga series “Our Fake Marriage” (known as “Usokon”) is set to inspire a highly anticipated live-action TV series, scheduled to premiere in July. The main leads in this exciting adaptation will be played by Fūma Kikuchi, a member of the renowned group Sexy Zone, and Neru Nagahama, a former member of Keyakizaka46.
The English version of the manga is published by Kodansha Comics, and it revolves around the story of Yae, an ordinary girl working as a temp. Facing the sudden loss of her home and job, she finds herself at a crossroads at the age of 29. However, her childhood friend Takumi, a handsome and successful architect, appears just in time. He offers her free accommodation in his luxurious Tokyo skyscraper condo, but there’s a catch – Yae must pretend to be his wife. Thus begins the tale of a fake marriage with an arrogant yet charming architect.
The series is set to be a collaboration of talented individuals, with Naomi Hiruta (known for “Turkey!”) writing the scripts and Yuji Iwamoto composing the music. Kento Yamaguchi and Mahito Kimura will be directing the show.
Fans can look forward to catching the series on Kansai Telecasting Corporation, Fuji TV, and their affiliated networks. The episodes will air on Tuesdays at 11:00 p.m., providing an exciting viewing option for both domestic and international audiences (10:00 a.m. EDT).
“Our Fake Marriage” manga was originally launched by Tokina on Kodansha’s Ane Friend web service in September 2019. The series has been well-received, with Kodansha publishing the 12th compiled volume of the manga on April 13.
