Kadokawa initiated the streaming of a teaser promotional video for the upcoming television anime adaptation of Akihiro Ononaka’s captivating work, “Gushing Over Magical Girls” (Mahō Shōjo ni Akogarete) manga. The teaser unveiled key insights into the anime’s primary cast and dedicated staff.
Portraying the lead role of Utena Hiiragi, also known as Magia Baiser, is Fūka Izumi. Utena is a protagonist brimming with adoration for magical girls; however, an enchantment compels her to take on the mantle of a magical girl villain.

Guiding the anime’s direction are Tadato Suzuki, noted for directing a 2019 episode of “Fruits Basket,” and Atsushi Ootsuki, acclaimed for works like “Kanokon: The Girl Who Cried Fox” and “Motto To Love Ru.” Asahi Production is helming the animation.

Music production is entrusted to Lantis. The much-anticipated anime is scheduled to grace screens in the year 2024.

Ononaka initiated the manga’s serialization in 2019 within Takeshobo’s pages of “Manga Life Storia” magazine. Following the publication’s cessation, the manga migrated to the digital realm of “Storia Dash,” the magazine’s online platform.
