Manga Planet India has announced a delay in its much-anticipated launch. Originally scheduled for April 2023, the launch will now take place at the end of 2023, according to a recent Facebook update from the company. The delay has been attributed to undisclosed technical difficulties. Manga Planet India assures fans that a new launch date will be shared when available.

Earlier this year, Manga Planet India had joined forces with Kodansha and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for the Manga Shakti Project, which was officially introduced in January. The project was prominently featured at the Mumbai Comic Con 2023, further heightening fan expectations.
Previously, the company’s top brass, including President Hiroki Kurihara, Editor-in-Chief Emma Hanashiro, and Producer Gladys Angala, attended the Super Sugoii Con virtual event in September 2020, shedding more light on their operations and objectives.

Manga Planet, a subscription-based platform, was launched in November 2019. The platform provides its subscribers with an array of English-translated manga. Manga Planet has established associations with reputable publishers such as Bunkasha Publishing Co., Ltd., Kaiohsha Publishing Co., Ltd., Wani Books Co., Ltd., Tokuma Shoten Publishing Co., Ltd., Shodensha Publishing Co., Ltd., Home-sha, Starts Publishing Corporation, K.K. HarperCollins Japan, and MugenUp Inc. Collaborations with independent artists, including Masaya Hokazono, further enrich the platform’s offerings.
Manga Planet was initially conceived in 2012 as a joint venture between the Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. and Fantasista, Inc. The mission behind Manga Planet has always been to bring fresh manga content to global fans while bolstering the industry and supporting the artists who bring these stories to life.
As Manga Planet India navigates these technical hurdles, Indian manga enthusiasts can look forward to an even more enhanced manga reading experience when the service finally launches.
