Bandai Namco Entertainment unveiled an exciting trailer for Tekken 8, their latest fighting game, during the Gamescom Opening Night Live livestream on Tuesday. The highly anticipated game is set to make its debut on January 26, 2024.
This captivating video not only introduces a fresh single-player experience, Arcade Quest, but also showcases the inclusion of avatar customization and a slew of new characters.
With its launch, Tekken 8 will boast a roster of 32 characters, each bringing their unique combat styles and stories to the fray. The journey to this point began with closed network testing exclusively for PlayStation 5 on July 21, followed by tests for Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam on July 28.
Notably, these tests will incorporate cross-play functionality, enhancing the gaming experience. Enthusiasts had the chance to get hands-on with the game at various global events, including the recent EVO 2023 event held from August 4 to 6.
The game is currently in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, though an official release date is yet to be announced by Bandai Namco Entertainment. Fans can look forward to controlling a diverse array of characters, including Jin Kazama, Kazuya Mishima, Nina Williams, Jun Kazama, Paul Phoenix, Marshall Law, King, Lars Alexandersson, Jack-8, Ling Xiaoyu, Asuka Kazama, Leroy Smith, Lili, and Hwoarang.
Before Tekken 8’s upcoming launch, it’s worth noting that its predecessor, Tekken 7, made its mark on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC via Steam in June 2017. Furthermore, Tekken enthusiasts were treated to the Tekken: Bloodline anime series, which artfully follows the narrative of the Tekken 3 fighting game.
This animated series made its debut on Netflix in August 2022, adding an extra layer of excitement to the franchise’s expanding universe.
