Mark Your Calendars: Spy Classroom Anime Season 2 Premieres July 13

During the live-stream event “Information Mission Debriefing From Kagerō Palace,” the staff of the television anime adaptation of Takemachi’s light novel series, Spy Classroom (also known as Spy Kyōshitsu or Spy Room), unveiled the highly-anticipated main visual and promotional video. Excitingly, the video showcased the official premiere date for the second season of the anime, set for July 13th.

The highly anticipated second season is set to debut in Japan on July 13, airing on the AT-X channel at 10:30 p.m. (9:30 a.m. EDT), followed by TOKYO MX, BS NTV, KBS Kyoto, Sun TV, and TV Aichi.

Additionally, anime enthusiasts can catch the premiere on the d Anime Store and ABEMA streaming services in Japan at 11:30 p.m. JST. Excitingly, the livestream announcement showcased an exciting collaboration between the franchise and beloved Sanrio characters.

The initial installment (the 13th in the entire series) of the second season of the anime, titled “#13 MISSION: Bōga (Ecstacy) I,” will receive an exclusive early screening online on Kadokawa Anime’s YouTube Channel on July 7, commencing at 8:00 p.m. JST.

The initial season debuted in Japan on January 5, with HIDIVE providing simultaneous streaming. Tokyo MX has initiated a rebroadcast of the first season, commencing on April 19.

  • Sumire Uesaka as Thea
  • Inori Minase as Erna
  • Nao Tōyama as Sibylla

  • Ayane Sakura as Sara
  • Tomori Kusunoki as Annett

Keiichiro Kawaguchi, known for his work on acclaimed anime such as Frame Arms Girl, Hayate the Combat Butler, and Higurashi: When They Cry – GOU, is set to return as the director for the upcoming series at the esteemed studio feel.

Shinichi Inotsume, recognized for his contributions to notable projects like Gangsta., Hayate the Combat Butler, and PERSONA 5 the Animation, will also make a comeback to supervise the series scripts. Sumie Kinoshita, known for her exceptional character designs in Dropout Idol Fruit Tart, Forest of Piano, and Girlish Number, will once again lend her creative touch. Additionally, nonoc will captivate audiences with the opening theme song “Rakuen” (Paradise), while sajou no hana will deliver a mesmerizing ending theme song titled “Nuisance.”

Now, he assembles a team for an overwhelmingly challenging assignment—a mission deemed over 90 percent likely to fail. However, his selected members are all failures with zero hands-on experience. Takemachi initiated the light novel series in January 2020, featuring captivating illustrations by Tomari. Shortly after, Kaname Seu commenced a manga adaptation in Kadokawa’s Monthly Comic Alive magazine in May of the same year.
