The anime adaptation of Wookjakga’s webcomic “A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special,” also known as “Kikansha no Mahō wa Tokubetsu Desu” in Japanese, has unveiled a character promotional video on its official website. This video spotlights the main character, Desir Herman.
The anime is set to debut in October, with Crunchyroll streaming the series in real-time as it unfolds.

The anime’s cast includes:
- Natsumi Fujiwara as Pram Schnaizer
- Takuma Terashima as Desir Herman
- Sayumi Suzushiro as Romantica Eru
Taishi Kawaguchi helms the anime as the director at Arvo Animation, while Takamitsu Kouno (known for works such as “She Professed Herself Pupil of the Wise Man,” “Absolute Duo,” and “We Without Wings – Under the Innocent Sky”) takes on the role of scriptwriter and supervisor.
Hiromi Kato, noted for her work in “Violinist of Hamelin,” “Kobato.,” and “Irina: The Vampire Cosmonaut,” lends her talent to character design. Eiji Iwase serves as the art director, with art assistance credited to Masahiro Kama.
Art design contributions come from Kazushige Kanehira, Akihiro Hirasawa, Yasuhiro Okumura, and Tomoyasu Fujise. Hideki Imaizumi captures the visuals as the director of photography, while Kenta Higashiohji, known for “Pole Princess!!,” composes the music.
Shōtarō Hashiguchi takes on the role of prop designer, and Aiko Matsuyama assumes the responsibility of color key artist. Ryoko Kaneshige expertly handles the editing process, while Takatoshi Hamano serves as the sound director, complemented by Yasumasa Koyama overseeing sound effects. Sound production is credited to Magic Capsule.
The opening theme, “Get Back,” will be performed by FLOW.
Yen Press has undertaken the English release of the series, and here’s a glimpse of the storyline:
