The upcoming 28th edition of Morning magazine by Kodansha announced on Thursday that Miko Yasu is set to unveil a fresh manga named DanDon in the forthcoming issue scheduled for release on June 15th.

Yasu concluded the first part of her comedic historical manga, “Police in a Pod” (Hakozume: Kōban Joshi no Gyakushū), in June 2022 and decided to take a break in order to prepare for her upcoming manga series.
Debuting in Kodansha’s Morning magazine in November 2017, “Police in a Pod” by Yasu has gained significant acclaim. The 23rd volume, published on February 21, was also well-received. Kodansha USA Publishing has been responsible for releasing the English version of the manga.
This exceptional manga has been recognized with several prestigious awards. It secured the Best General Manga award at the 66th Shogakukan Manga Awards in 2021 and the same accolade at the 46th Annual Kodansha Manga Awards in 2022.
With over 5 million copies in circulation, including digital sales, “Police in a Pod” has garnered immense popularity among readers.
The manga’s success transcended the pages, inspiring both a thrilling television anime series that premiered in January 2022 and a captivating live-action adaptation that aired from July to September 2021. Funimation streamed the anime series during its broadcast, further contributing to its widespread appeal.
