Monster Maid Author, Yugata Tanabe, Presents New Manga

On Monday, Kadokawa’s Comic Newtype web manga site’s official Twitter account revealed an exciting announcement: Yugata Tanabe is set to debut a brand-new manga titled “Shikigami of Detective” (Tantei no Shikigami) on Tuesday at 11 a.m. JST.

This enigmatic tale revolves around a detective steeped in sorcery, characterized by a cantankerous demeanor, an endearing and resilient shikigami doll cleverly disguised as a human, and a kind-hearted high school boy.

Tanabe recently concluded “The Splendid Work of a Monster Maid” (Kaibutsu Maid no Kareinaru Oshigoto) manga in May 2022. Originating on the Comic Newtype web manga site in April 2020, the series concluded with its fifth and final volume, published by Kadokawa in July 2022.

English-speaking audiences can also enjoy this manga, as Yen Press released the fifth volume on June 20, 2022.
