Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2’s Set for April 2024

The second season of the Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation anime, titled Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation II, will delight fans with an extended run spanning two cours. The official website recently unveiled exciting details about the upcoming season. The first half is set to air from July to September, while the second half is scheduled for April to June in 2024. With a total of 25 episodes, viewers can immerse themselves in an epic and captivating story.

Studio Bind is bringing a fresh perspective to the series, as Hiroki Hirano takes over the directorial reins from Manabu Okamoto. Additionally, Toshiya Ono, known for his remarkable work on series such as 86, Gatchaman Crowds, Land of the Lustrous, and The Promised Neverland, will assume the role of series script supervisor. Sanae Shimada, acclaimed for her work on Photo Kano and UTOPA, joins as the new character designer.

Key members of the production team are returning to ensure a seamless continuation of the series. Masakazu Miyake remains the sole art director, while Makiko Doi continues to contribute as the sole color key artist. Other returning staff members include Shinji Tonsho as the compositing director of photography, Akinori Mishima as the editor, Jin Aketagawa as the sound director, Tsutomu Ueno as the sound effects artist, and Yoshiaki Fujisawa as the musical composer. EGG FIRM is once again producing the series.

Fans can look forward to captivating music in the second season. The opening theme song, titled “spiral,” will be performed by LONGMAN, while the ending theme song, “Musubime” (Knot), will be performed by Yuiko Ōhara.

Jobless Reincarnation Season 2

In addition to the anime adaptation, Seven Seas Entertainment has acquired the rights to Rifujin na Magonote’s original main light novel series and Yuka Fujikawa’s manga adaptation. They have also licensed the spinoff manga Mushoku Tensei: Roxy Gets Serious by Shōko Iwami. Seven Seas describes the novels as an “epic and influential fantasy” tale, chronicling the journey of Rudeus Greyrat, a 34-year-old shut-in who reincarnates into a world of swords and sorcery, determined to learn from his past mistakes and embark on a thrilling new adventure.

Originally serialized on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō (Let’s Become Novelists) website from 2012 to 2015, Rifujin na Magonote’s story found success, leading to the publication of a print version by Kadokawa’s MF Books imprint in 2014. As of November 2022, the series has reached its 26th volume.

The first season of the anime adaptation premiered in January 2021, followed by the second part in October of the same year. Funimation streamed the season, and now Crunchyroll and Hulu are offering the anime for streaming, including the unaired side-story original video anime (OVA) episode titled “Eris the Goblin Slayer.” Fans can enjoy the captivating world of Mushoku Tensei as the second season continues to unfold.
